Team Leader

$35-$40 p/hour + super + company ute

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • you will need the ability to work independently, as a team leader or as part of a team.
  • teaching and passing on knowledge to apprentices
  • complete all aspects of garden maintenance at jobs as well managing a team.
  • monitor the health of gardens and have an approach that progressively improves the quality of our jobs
  • time management skills

Skills and experience

  • candidates must be qualified in Horticulture or have multiple years experience and have a good knowledge of the horticulture trade including plant and weed identification
  • have experience in all aspects of garden maintenance including hedging and topiary, pruning, weeding, pest and disease control, plant health etc.
  • have excellent communication skills
  • have a manual drivers licence
  • have a strong attention to detail and have a great work ethic.
  • reliable, punctual and hard working

We are offering an apprenticeship in Parks & Gardens Cert111 which will give you the qualification of a Horticulturist. The apprenticeship lasts 3-4 years. The TAFE studies are 1 day a week for 2.5 years. We complete all aspects of gardening work including pruning, weed control, hedging & shaping, fertilising, plant selection, planting, soil/compost addition, mulching, lawn care and installation etc.

We are looking for applicants who are friendly, motivated, enthusiastic and hard working to join Hort Culture family. Work outdoors in a team environment and help maintain high end gardens throughout the beautiful northern beaches and north shore suburbs of Sydney. Drivers licence and own transport is preferable but not necessary. If using public transport we have various meeting points throughout the areas we work in.
